This course covers vent systems, flues and chimneys for heating and water heater systems as well as fireplaces.  Students apply knowledge of these systems to the role of a home inspector making observations and report writing strategies

Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps

This course is designed to instruct students on the basic mechanics, components, operation and sizing of split system and ductless central air conditioners and heat pumps.  This course will also discuss inspection techniques, the tools required for inspecting these systems, report writing strategies, life expectancies, determining the age of the system and differences between the air conditioners and heat pumps.

Handling Complaints and Claims for Home Inspectors

The purpose of this 1 hour course is to enable professional home inspectors to respond to complaints effectively, ethically, and appropriately. The Instructor will review requirements for providing clients with information after the inspection is over, how to investigate the complaint in a professional manner, how to communicate incidents to an insurer, and how to amicably resolve complaints and claims.
