What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it is release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We keep contact form entries for one year, analytics records for five years, and customer purchase records for ten years. All data related to courses is retained for a minimum of five years.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. We receive data from instructors and member groups and associations as part of building and implementing our courses. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third parties and advise you to review their privacy policies independently.

Cognificent Learning is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of our website or services, including but not limited to any information that is exchanged or posted on the platform. Users are responsible for their own interactions and communications with others through our platform. We do not monitor or control user interactions and disclaim all liability for user conduct.
